Beaches Near Indian Hill Road

Lambert's Cove Beach

Lambert’s Cove Beach

There are a lot of beaches near Indian Hill Road. The closest is perhaps the most beautiful on Martha’s Vineyard. We provide 10 walk-on passes for your use of this iconic beach. You are a short bike ride from the beach entrance.

Please find the passes in the drawer to the right of the wine cooler in the kitchen island. If there are not 10 passes there let me know immediately. You are responsible for returning all 10 passes to the drawer when you leave.

YOU WILL NEED A COPY OF YOUR LEASE TO GET A CAR PASS!

To park a car at the beach you will need a beach sticker. These are provided by the town to anyone with a valid lease. The cost is $50. You get the passes at “The Shed” which is near the basketball courts at the West Tisbury school. Hours vary.

DO NOT TAKE THE SHORT CUT FROM INDIAN HILL TO THE SCHOOL SHOWN BELOW. TAKE THE LONG ROAD – MUCH FASTER AND SAFER. I CANT GET MAP TO SHOW THE RIGHT LONGER ROAD. THAT SAID IT IS BIKEABLE, I THINK.

Plan to arrive early or late to the beach. The town has restricted parking so that there are not as many parking spots as usual. You will need to be prepared for a rather long, but pleasant, walk from the parking lot to the beach. Wear sandals for this part. Most people leave their sandals as soon as the sand starts getting white. Bring a cooler, chairs and a sun umbrella. Once you are there you won’t want to leave.

  • Dogs are currently not allowed
  • Toilets (if any) are only at the parking lot and not at the beach.
  • Use the outdoor shower on return to the house.
  • Inspect yourself and your children for ticks after showering. Deer ticks are everywhere.
